About us

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Medway!

The Rotary Club of Medway is part of a worldwide network of 1.2 million men and women in over 200 countries united in the ideal of "Service".  The Medway Club comprises people of action who want to make a difference in our community and beyond.

The Rotary Club of Medway was formed in 1981.  We are a club of 26 men and women who enjoy the fellowship that Rotary offers and have an active social programme, as well as our community and International activities.

You will find us out and about organising and helping with local community events as well as involving ourselves in Rotary campaigns such as ending Polio, and relieving international disasters through such organisations as the Rotary-initiated ShelterBox.

Our flagship service project, running since 2009, is Children's Hospice Family Holidays which involves taking 6 life-limited children from local children’s hospices along with their families and hospice carers to Disneyland Paris for 4 days in May. The funds for this undertaking, along with our other important community-based projects are raised through some major public events which provide us all with a lot of fun in organising and running. Check out our Events pages for further information.

We are particularly keen to encourage young people to become members and are happy to mentor such people.  We invite Rotary and non-Rotary guests to join us at one of our meetings held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at Gillingham Golf Club, just off Watling Street at Gillingham, where you will receive a warm welcome without any commitment.  Just contact our Club Secretary to make arrangements.
