Rotary is an international organisation with 33,000 Clubs containing 1.2m members worldwide. Although headquartered in Evanston Illinois, Clubs are autonomous but are required to meet RI standards and, for organisational reasons, are allocated into 34 geographic Zones. Each Zone is sub-divided into 630 Districts and Medway is part of District 1120. The International organisation is headed by an annually-elected President, President Elect and 17 Directors (each representing 2 Zones).
Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland (RIBI) is a unique element in Rotary International's organisation, effectively providing a UK-wide base that sits between the UK Clubs/Districts and the International structure, much in the form of an 'Area Office'. RIBI is largely contiguous with International Zones 17 & 18.
District 1120 has an annually-elected District Governor leading the District team, which also includes 8 Assistant Governors and other volunteers from Clubs across the District. Details of everyone involved are contained in directories at National, District and Club level.
Rotarians strive to apply RI values to their business and family lives following "The Four Way Test":
    1. Is it the TRUTH?
    2. Is it FAIR to ALL concerned?
    3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIP?
    4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to ALL?
